When executives come to resilience coaching

Rarely at the point of collapse. Usually at the point where the usual strategies have quietly stopped working.

Recovery has stopped working

Weekends and holidays no longer reset you. Sleep is broken, and the first hour of the working day already feels like the third.

Decisions feel heavier than they are

Choices you would once have made in minutes now circle for days. Confidence is intact in public and thinning in private.

The pressure is coming from people

A difficult board member, a hostile peer, or a culture that rewards dominance. Resilience here is about boundaries and reading behaviour accurately, not stoicism.

You are carrying the team's load

You absorb the organisation's anxiety so others do not have to. It works, until the cost lands somewhere else.

How the programme works

The structure below is the flagship Brilliance Through Resilience programme, adapted to the individual.

  1. 01

    Discovery session

A 90-minute session to map the pressure: where it comes from, how it shows up in your behaviour, and what has already been tried. You leave with a working formulation, not homework.

  2. 02

    Resilience psychometric and DNA panel

Measurement before intervention. A validated resilience psychometric plus a DNA resilience panel gives a baseline you can re-test against, rather than a vague sense of coping better.

  3. 03

    1:1 coaching programme

Fortnightly 60-minute sessions. Work covers stress physiology, recovery design, boundary setting, difficult workplace dynamics and the beliefs that keep over-functioning in place.

  4. 04

    Re-measure and consolidate

We re-run the measures at the end of the programme so the change is evidenced, and agree what you keep doing without a coach in the room.

Common questions

What is resilience coaching?

Resilience coaching is structured one-to-one work that builds a leader's capacity to perform under sustained pressure and to recover from it. Unlike general executive coaching, it focuses specifically on stress physiology, recovery, boundaries and the thinking patterns that turn pressure into burnout. Delivered by a business psychologist, it is grounded in assessment and psychological theory rather than motivation alone.

How is it different from therapy?

Therapy treats clinical distress and often works backwards through history. Resilience coaching is forward-facing and performance-focused: it uses psychological insight to change how you operate at work now. Dannielle is a psychologist with counselling training, so where something clinical surfaces it is recognised and referred appropriately rather than coached around.

How long does a programme take?

Most executives work over six months, with fortnightly sessions after the discovery session. Shorter engagements are possible for a specific transition, such as a new mandate, a restructure or a hostile stakeholder relationship.

Is coaching delivered in person or online?

Both. Sessions run in central London or over video, and most clients mix the two. International clients work entirely online across time zones.

Can resilience be measured?

Yes, within limits. A validated resilience psychometric gives a baseline across factors such as challenge, commitment, control and confidence, and can be re-run at the end of a programme. It is a directional measure of change, used alongside your own account of what has shifted at work.

Do you work with teams as well as individuals?

Yes. Where the pressure is structural rather than personal, the same work is delivered as leadership team sessions and workshops through the advisory practice.
